Discover the many sides of Tanzania

Tanzania invites you to travel through some of East Africa’s most expansive safari country. The northern circuit links the Serengeti with Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Lake Manyara, while Kilimanjaro offers a very different kind of adventure. Give each place enough time and the journey becomes more than a checklist: changing habitats, long game drives and quiet evenings bring the landscapes into focus.

Six reasons to visit Tanzania

Build a journey around wildlife, wide-open landscapes, mountains and the Indian Ocean.

Big landscapes, lasting memories

Spend time in broad wildlife areas where the scenery is as much a part of the safari as the sightings.

A varied northern circuit

Link grasslands, crater country, baobab woodland and lakeshore habitats in one thoughtfully paced journey.

Seasonal migration experiences

Plan your Serengeti stay around the likely location of the herds, while allowing for natural variation.

A mountain adventure

Pair wildlife viewing with a separate Kilimanjaro itinerary designed around preparation and acclimatisation.

A coastal finish

Add Zanzibar for beach time, Swahili culture and a change of rhythm after the bush.

Choice of safari styles

Explore existing group departures or request a private route built around your interests and budget.

Tanzania’s top safari & coastal destinations

Six highlights to inspire your Tanzania itinerary. Choose the places and experiences that suit your interests and travel dates.

Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti’s grasslands and river systems support rich wildlife viewing across a vast area. Predator sightings and seasonal wildebeest movements are major draws, but the best region to explore depends on your dates. Plan enough nights to enjoy the landscape rather than rushing through on a single drive.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

A descent into Ngorongoro Crater reveals a compact mosaic of grassland, wetlands and woodland within steep crater walls. It is a striking complement to the Serengeti’s open plains, with opportunities to look for a variety of large mammals. Highland scenery adds interest to the journey between safari stops.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire is celebrated for elephants, baobab trees and landscapes shaped by its river. Game drives reveal a different side of northern Tanzania, with seasonal changes influencing where animals gather. It is worth allowing more than a brief transit visit when your itinerary permits.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara brings forest, escarpment and lakeshore habitats into a relatively compact safari area. Look for monkeys in the trees, larger mammals along the tracks and waterbirds near the lake. Its greener surroundings provide a useful contrast to Tarangire and the Serengeti.

Mount Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro attracts walkers who want a dedicated mountain adventure alongside their safari. A climb crosses changing vegetation zones before reaching high-altitude terrain, and requires careful preparation and acclimatisation. Route choice and the number of climbing days matter more than rushing towards a summit attempt.

Zanzibar & Stone Town

Zanzibar offers Indian Ocean downtime and the layered history of Stone Town. Explore narrow streets with a local guide, learn about Swahili heritage, then head to the coast for a slower finish. Beach location, tides and travel connections should shape the extension you choose.

Your Tanzania safari questions

Practical answers before you choose a route. Our team can help with the details specific to your trip.

The right dates depend on your route and priorities. Wildlife viewing is possible across different seasons, while Serengeti herd movements shift with rainfall and grazing. We can recommend an area and pacing for your travel window.

Around seven to ten days gives more time for several parks without constant transfers. A shorter trip should focus on fewer areas, while additional nights allow a deeper Serengeti experience.

The wildebeest migration is a moving natural cycle, rather than one fixed event. Herd locations and river crossings cannot be guaranteed. Your dates help determine which part of the Serengeti to consider.

Yes. A mountain climb needs its own preparation and sufficient days, while Zanzibar can be added as a separate coastal extension. We can help arrange a practical sequence.

The current tour collection includes group joining and combined-country itineraries. Send an enquiry if you prefer a private safari or need different dates, accommodation or travel arrangements.
