Day by day

Detailed itinerary

Collection from the airport or your hotel, breakfast and a briefing from your guide, then a transfer to the shuttle terminal for the morning bus to Arusha. The route crosses into Tanzania at Namanga and you arrive in the afternoon or early evening to check in at your hotel.

After breakfast you depart for Lake Manyara with lunch en route, arriving for a game drive. The park is known for its tree-climbing lions and its flamingo flocks, though the groundwater forest at the foot of the escarpment also holds elephant, buffalo, giraffe and blue monkey. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or campsite.

A game drive on the way out, then the climb to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with lunch on the road, arriving in the afternoon. The rim gives you the first view down onto the crater floor. Dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.

The descent this morning takes you across grassland and along the soda lake inside the caldera. Picnic lunch on the crater floor, then the climb back up and the drive to Arusha for the night.

After breakfast you are collected for the morning shuttle to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon for a drop at your hotel or the airport. If you are continuing to Zanzibar we can drop you at Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport instead.
