Discover the many sides of Kenya

Kenya brings together the safari landscapes many travellers dream of: the rolling grasslands of the Maasai Mara, Amboseli’s elephant country and the lakes of the Great Rift Valley. Beyond the game drives, there are mountain trails, community-led cultural visits and warm coastal towns shaped by Swahili heritage. A well-paced journey can combine several of these experiences without making every day a long transfer.

Choose a classic wildlife circuit, an unhurried private safari or a journey that ends on the coast. Regal Tracks Safaris helps connect the places that matter most, with time to enjoy them.

Kenya’s top safari & beach destinations

Six highlights to shape your itinerary, from open savannah and Rift Valley lakes to the Indian Ocean.

Maasai Mara National Reserve

Open grasslands, river valleys and acacia-dotted plains make the Mara a rewarding setting for game drives. Search for lions, cheetahs and elephants with your guide, or add a balloon flight for a different view of the landscape. Seasonal wildebeest movements add another reason to visit, although their timing and river crossings vary.

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli is known for its elephants and wide views towards Mount Kilimanjaro when the skies are clear. Its wetlands draw wildlife and waterbirds into an otherwise dry landscape. Allow time for early and late game drives, when softer light creates excellent opportunities for photography.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru combines a Rift Valley lake with wooded slopes and open grassland. Game drives may reveal rhinos, buffalo and giraffes, while viewpoints show how the lake sits within the surrounding escarpments. Birdlife changes with water conditions, so flamingo numbers should never be treated as a guarantee.

Samburu National Reserve

Northern Kenya offers a different safari atmosphere: dry hills, palms and the life-giving Ewaso Ng’iro River. Look for wildlife adapted to these landscapes, including reticulated giraffes and Grevy’s zebras. Samburu works well for travellers who want to broaden a classic southern safari route.

Tsavo West National Park

Tsavo West pairs wildlife viewing with lava-shaped scenery, rugged hills and the clear waters of Mzima Springs. Its varied terrain rewards an unhurried stay and adds a scenic contrast to open-plains reserves. Combine it with Amboseli or continue towards Kenya’s coast.

Diani Beach

Diani offers a gentle change of pace after dusty game drives, with a long sandy coastline and warm Indian Ocean water. Spend time by the beach, arrange a snorkelling excursion when conditions allow, or explore coastal culture. It is a natural ending for a safari focused on both discovery and rest.

Your Kenya safari questions

Practical answers before you choose a route. Our team can help with the details specific to your trip.

Kenya offers wildlife experiences throughout the year. Drier periods are often convenient for game drives, while greener months bring different scenery and birdlife. Tell us your preferred dates and priorities so we can recommend a route around regional conditions.

About a week allows a well-paced introduction to two or three safari areas. Ten to fourteen days gives more room for northern Kenya, extra nights in the Mara or a beach extension. Shorter trips can focus on one reserve.

Yes. Selected tours already combine both countries. We can advise on a practical route, border transfers and the separate entry requirements you need to confirm before travelling.

Many itineraries can be adapted for families, with shorter travel days and suitable accommodation. Tell us the children’s ages so we can check activity restrictions and lodge policies.

Dates, group size, accommodation, transport and park fees all affect the total. Send an enquiry for a quotation that clearly explains what is included.
