Nestled in the Siha District of Kilimanjaro Region, the sanctuary lies about 1.5–2 hours (80 km) from Arusha, and around one hour from Moshi, with well-maintained roads all the way. It’s also a quick 35-minute drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport
The sanctuary is home to a diverse mix of inhabitants: African lions, colobus monkeys, Masai giraffes, bat-eared foxes, elands, ostriches, vervet and blue monkeys—among others. Over 3,000–5,000 endemic trees and plants have been hand-planted to enhance animal habitats and support biodiversity
