DAY TO NAPURU WATER FALL FROM ARUSHA.
Napuru Waterfalls also known as the Mount Meru Waterfall is a serene 50 – 78-meter cascade situated just 7–20 minutes (around 7–10 km) from Arusha city, within the Meru Forest Plantation at an elevation of approximately 1,545–1,760 meters above sea level. It lies near the southwestern boundary of Arusha National Park, fed by the Themi River. Surrounded by dense rainforest, vibrant flora, and towering trees, the waterfall is a tranquil haven rich with birdlife including highland and migratory species and occasional sightings of monkeys like blue monkeys and colobus.
Activities in Napuru Waterfall includes; -
Hiking to the falls:
Refreshing Swim: Cool off in the natural pool beneath the waterfall ideal for a dip, but not deep enough for diving.
Photography & Scenery: A photographer’s paradise, framed by mist, flowing water, and rainforest.
Birdwatching & Wildlife: Excellent opportunity to observe local bird species and small mammals.

ITINERARY
07:30 AM – Departure from Arusha
- Pick-up from your hotel/lodge in Arusha by your local guide.
- Quick safety briefing and overview of the day.
- Drive to the Napuru Waterfall trailhead (approx. 30–45 minutes depending on traffic).
08:30 AM – Arrival at Napuru Village
- Meet local village guide (if part of your tour).
- Brief cultural introduction to the area and the significance of the waterfall.
09:00 AM – Begin Hike to Napuru Waterfall
- Guided hike through lush forests, local farms, and hilly terrain.
- The hike takes approx. 1.5–2 hours one way, depending on pace and stops.
- Along the way: enjoy views of Mount Meru, local flora, birdlife, and streams.
- Water and light snacks provided during the hike.
11:00 AM – Arrive at Napuru Waterfall
- Free time to explore the waterfall, take photos, or swim in the natural pool (if safe).
- Relax and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
- Optional: light meditation or stretching session near the water.
12:30 PM – Picnic Lunch
- Packed lunch provided (can be customized in advance).
- Enjoy lunch in the shade near the falls or at a scenic resting spot on the way down.
01:30 PM – Begin Hike Back to Village
- Descend the trail with plenty of photo opportunities.
- Learn about medicinal plants and local farming practices (guide dependent).
03:30 PM – Return to Arusha
- Drive back to Arusha town.
- Optional stop at a local coffee shop or craft market (time permitting).
04:30–05:00 PM – Drop-off at Hotel/Lodge
- End of tour.
- Recommendations for dinner or further exploration in Arusha if desired.
